Trying to conceive
Trying for a baby is an exciting time but it can also come with many physical and emotional ups and downs. Reflexology can be helpful for both men and women whilst trying to conceive as it helps promote a sense of relaxation and well being and can help reduce stress and anxiety, ensuring mind and body are functioning at their best. If you'd like to find out more about how reflexology may be able to help during this time, or if you'd like to discuss reflexology during fertility treatment, please get in touch.
Supporting your pregnancy
Reflexology is a very nurturing treatment during pregnancy as it helps create a deep state of relaxation, which can be beneficial for both mother and baby. Reflexology can also help to ease pregnancy related symptoms and can be great for supporting the hormone changes that occur during each trimester, enabling the mind and body to feel relaxed and prepared for labour and birth.
Life with a new baby can be wonderful, emotional and all encompassing. It can also be mentally and physically challenging as your body recovers from pregnancy and birth and you adjust to the demands of this new little person.
Reflexology can be a wonderful way to help the body rebalance during this time and can give new mums a little time to relax and adjust. I'm happy to to see mums and babies in their own homes during this early postnatal period to make things a little easier.
I also have a special interest in supporting women who may be experiencing perinatal mental illness, whether baby blues, anxiety or pre or postnatal depression, and I have received perinatal mental illness awareness training through Bristol charity Mothers for Mothers, for whom I regularly volunteer.
